The New Zealand Geographic Photographer of the Year, sponsored by Nikon, will be picked from these entrants, as will the Young Photographer award, sponsored by Getty Images (for entrants under the age of 21 on Sept 30, 2010). The winner of each category receives $1000 cash, publication in New Zealand Geographic, 10 New Zealand Geographic 2011 calendars, a one year subscription to New Zealand Geographic and a large format print of their winning image. The winner of the Young Photographer category will also receive $1000, a large format photographic print and automatic access into the New Zealand Geographic Trust Young Guns mentoring scheme.
