Chapter Three: Death is Calling
"Otouto, broare you okay?"
"JustynnI just
"It was on accident, your adrenaline was pumping and he was gonna kill you!"

"So you took care of your responsibilities!"
"I just killed a guy, man!"
"And he would've done the same to you without a second thought on it! You're alive; he's dead, one down and one to go!"

I cared with a great passion because I never wanted my little brothers' hands to be stained with the blood of a person. But now he had joined my rank, and the deepest darkest side of him had surfaced for that split second. I didn't want him not to think I didn't care but what could I say? Should I lie? Should I tell the truth? He wants to know the truth, right? Then I had to do it. I had to say it
"Do I care? Do I actually care whether he dies? The kid tried to kill me, and has made a mess out of you. He tried to take your life as well as mineso noI don't care" I replied to his question with a sigh and turned away from him.
"What are you doin'?" he asked.
"Your look like you can't continue the fight because of fear you might kill again. You're not the Hitokiri Battosai, Otouto. You're Deraldmy little brother and my second in command. You think you can't finish this, then I'll do it."
"But what if you get killed?"
"What if I doso what? It won't matter."
"I'm not gonna let you fight without me."
"In the condition you're in you shouldn't even be standing up."
As our conversation went on, Lex crawled slowly toward his brotheror what was left of him. He stroked his brothers' face and a smirk crept upon his face. A slight laughter came from that smirk, the smirk that had now evolved into an evil laughter. Both Derald and I turned our attention toward Lex. I stepped in front of Derald thinking that Lex was about to try something.
"You killed him." Lex mumbled. "You put him in a state of rage I've never seen before kid."
"Your brother did the same with mine, Lex." I yelled back. That's when he glared our way with a smirk on his face.
"Do you know what it feels like to have your brother killed before your eyes?"
Derald and I both exchanged looks of confusion toward one another. I put on a calm face and smiled at my brother and put my hand on his shoulder lightly.
"What?" Derald asked with a confused look on his face.
"I don't know what it would be like to have my brother killed before my eyes. And I never want you to know that experience either."
He smiled back and we both turned our attention back to Lex.
"No." we both answered back in unison.
Lex looked at the ground and smiled a devilish grin.
"No you say? Welllet me show you."
Within the blink of an eye, Lex was in front of my face and connected his knee to my chin, causing me to fly in the air. He then grabbed Derald by the throat and began to slam him into the ground countless times. Somehow I caught my balance and forced my body back to the ground. I wiped the blood from my mouth as I ran to my brothers' rescue. Lex saw me from the corner of his eye and tossed Derald my way. I caught him and slid him to the ground, immediately when I turned Lex had my face in his hand. He picked me up and began to squeeze my head. I felt the pressure be put on me and I felt the blood begin to drip. Lex, with a rage in his eyes, began to punch me with all his might. I coughed up a bit of blood after the third punch, and I can't blame the guy for the power he's sending my way. He wants Derald to suffer like he's suffering right now. But I don't have time to have sympathy for the guy. I pulled my leg up to block his next punch and it worked. I grabbed his hand and I swung myself onto his shoulders. I then began to punch at his face rapidly without stopping. Derald came and began to punch and kick at his mid section and his face. I guess Lex got tired and grabbed us both, rammed us together and threw us both to the edge of the ring. We slid across the field and I took hold to my little brothers' arm as he did the same. We both slowed ourselves down so that we wouldn't fall out of the ring. Derald could see that I was taking greater shots than he, and I could see the worry upon his face.
"Bro, maybe you should stay down." he said to me, wiping the blood that seemed to drip from my eye.
"I'm not gonna stay down." I replied back with a growl in my voice as I stood up slowly. Lex began to walk our way slowly. I don't know whether or not I'm right, but I could've sworn I heard some other people, other than our mothers, calling out to us.
"Bro, if you get up and try to fight he'll kill you!"
"And if he does manage to kill me, I'll fail you because you'll be next on his list!" there was a short pause between us as Lex drew closer. "I can't allow you to die Otouto."
"And I can't let you die either, you're my brother,vibram five fingers sale, and I'm your guardian."
"Yea," I replied with a chuckle. "I know that"
Lex was right above us and as he tightened his muscles for the last assault, the crowd boosted his rage with their cheers.
"Little brother"
"Yea?"
I put my fist up, he was hesitant to do it but he connected his fist with mine. Lex drew his arm back and made a fist. As soon as he did that, I leapt for him and Derald followed. Lifting his left knee to join my right knee, we both connected them with his face. He swaggered back, a bit dazed from what I could tell. We both landed and began to move in unison as we ran to him. I slowed down my pace and ran behind Derald with Lex still in my sights. Lex began to get up and ran toward us. He began to swing his fist, so Derald jumped up on my shoulders and catapulted himself over Lex as he swung and missed him. I dodged his punch, grabbed him, and threw him over me onto the floor. He quickly got up and made an attempt to throw a punch my way, but I did a back flip and Derald punched him before he connected his punch. After Derald landed, I looked at him and we both dashed toward Lex. But Lex moved a lot quicker than before, I don't know how but I saw the punch. I halted Derald and pushed him to the side. Lexs' punch connected and it sent me almost flying across the field. I did fly off of the ring and if I would have touched anything inanimate outside of the ring we would have lost. But I was saved in a way by my best friend, Will, who pushed me back into the ring.
"Go get him." he said with a smile.
All I could do at first was look at him, but the smirk came on my face. Yet as quick as the smirk came, it left again. I heard the painful scream of my brother, and turned quickly to see what was wrong. Lex had Derald by his head and was holding him in the air by it. Lex looked at me and smiled an evil grin.
"NoLex don't you do it" I stood to my feet slowly, trying to figure out whether I'd be fast enough to stop his assault on my brother. Honestly I was trembling; reason being was because I'm already slacking as his guardian. Derald has asked me twice where was I when he needed me, and I never had an exact answer. Now his life is in the hands of a 7 foot giant, and only my 5'11" can save him.
"Justynn! Help! Ah!" Derald screamed out as he kicked Lex repeatedly. But obviously it was having no effect on him.
"Otouto" I whispered. I was trying to wait for him to drop his guard but I knew also that Derald couldn't wait that long.
"You gave me painyou made me show emotion." Lex tightened his grip upon Derald, I could tell by the scream.
"Justynn! Help me, please!"
I began to get cold and breathe heavily under the stress of trying to figure out my next move.
"And to top off your stupidity, you made me show fear" I saw the snapped look in Lexs' eyes and my body snapped to normal. "And you took my brother from me"
"Otouto! Hold on!" in an instant, I dashed with every burst of speed that I had. I knew I didn't have much time, and if he died,scarpe nike air max, I knew it would be over for the promises made.

"Derald!"
"Justynn, HELP!"
I pushed my limits as the screams of my younger brother pierced my ears and cut at my soul. As I ran I kept telling myself, I gotta make it, I have to! the crowd drew silent as Lex crushed Deralds' head in the palm of his hand. I could hear Deralds' mother screaming toward the ring.
"My baby, no! Not my baby!" she screamed, crying a river of tears.
I was stuck, I couldn't move because of what I had done. I failed my little brother because I wasn't fast enough to get to him in time. I dropped to my knees and my eyes got watery. Lex saw the shock in my face and did the most disrespectful thing ever. Still having a grip on Deralds' head, he threw him to the edge of the ring toward our family. I heard his mother let out a short shrill as she turned away from the field and her departed son. The crowd burst into a frenzy of cheers and satisfaction. My concentration must've been split because all I could do was go through memories now.
Thinking back to where it all began,Puma Lazy Insect, at Suncoast. Thinking back to when we had first met while playing around. The first time we tested our strength against each other and pushed our limits both times. The way we use to joke and play, how we were best friends at first and then made it to brother status. I remember when I left and I promised him I would return, and out of all my friends, he was the only one who believed me. He told me he never had a big brother to look up to, and I took that position. But as his brother, I should've been able to save him. I should've been strong enough to break the grip that Lex had on him. As I was going through memory lane, what I didn't know was that Lex was about to begin his assault. I could barely hear him as he trashed talked to me. He kicked me back and I rolled across the ground and landed flat on my stomach.
I remembered when I came back home and I went back to school at SOS Academy. When he saw me, he was hyped up more because he thought I wouldn't come back. Our bond was stronger then, way stronger than it was when I left. Then the new kid came, Brandon, and told us about the tournament. We entered together; I wanted to help my little brother prove that he could make it. Make it to what exactly? You'll have to find out later because out of the drowning of the crowd, I could hear Deralds' mom yelling at me.
"Get up, Justynn!" I sat up, still in a daze from what I saw. "You two were in this together, and you just let him die! And the only way to equal things out is to let his death go unnoticed?" Lex picked me up by my throat and began to choke me.
"You have to beat him Justynn! You can't let him win!" William,baskets mbt, Deralds' little brother, called out.
"Miles!" I heard my best friend Donta call to me. I couldn't react for some reason because my world was growing dark and my temperature was rising. "Miles you can't die! You have to find something, some power somewhere inside of you!"
"Justynn stop holding back!" my Uncle Boo started to yell. "You hold back and you'll die right along with him! Stop holding back, you gotta let it all go!"
I tried to respond to their comments but it was too late. My world had grown dark and the sounds of the crowd began to drown out until there was nothing more than silence left around me.
