五、教堂
早在明朝，天主教就传入福州，鸦片战争后，大批外国传教士再次来到福州，他们建有自己的教堂，用洋文，中文和福州方言传教。这是由英国传教士于1850年建造的石库教堂位于闽江南岸的山上，与中国传统的庙宇对望。如今多种宗教共存，福州长乐福东村春节游神时，身着中国传统服饰的“神”与村口的西式教堂交相辉映。泛船浦教堂（右）重建于 1933年，为福建最大的天主教堂。传教士建立的教堂已近成为了福州颇具特色的宗教和人文景观。

5. Churches
As early as in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Catholic Church was introduced to Fuzhou. After the Opium War, many foreign missionaries returned to Fuzhou. They set up churches and preached in foreign languages, Chinese mandarin and Fuzhou dialect. In 1850 an English preacher had a stone church built on the southern bank of the Minjiang River, facing to the traditional Chinese temple
Now a variety of religions coexist in Fuzhou. During the Spring Festival, the event of “Gods Parade” in Fudong Village, Changle, Fuzhou, the icons of gods clad in traditional Chinese costumes contrast with the Western-style church at the front of the village.
The Fanchuanpu Church (right) was rebuilt in 1933. It is the largest Catholic church in Fujian. The churches set up by foreign missionaries have become a unique religious and cultural landscape in Fuzhou.
