6. Yongquan Temple, Gushan Hill

Built in the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Yongquan Temple is at 455 meters in Gushan Hill in the eastern suburb of Fuzhou.

The temple, with an accommodation of more than 1,500 monks at the peak time, is known to the local people as the ¡°crown temple of Fujian¡±. There were more than 200 monks in the early 1870s. In the eyes of Westerners, the robe the monks wear sort of resemble the style of ancient European clothes.

After the baptism of more than a hundred year of history, the Yongquan Temple became the most famous of its kind in Fujian, while Gushan Hill the most appealing tourist attraction in the suburban area of Fuzhou.
