7. Water- Drinking Rock, Gushan Hill
Located to the east of the Yongquan Temple, the east suburb of Fuzhou, the Water -Drinking Rock accommodated about 200 pieces of cliff carvings, some dating back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279). They vary in calligraphic styles of Zhen, Xing, Cao, Li, and Zhuan, accounting or nearly a half of the total 480 pieces of cliff carvings found in Gushan Hill. It is a treasure of stone carved works of Chinese calligraphy, hailed the ¡°Tablet Forest in Southeast China¡±. The place, known as Guling in Fuzhou, has been a summer resort for the city¡¯s foreigners. Now it is the most famous tourist attraction and resort in the suburb area of Fuzhou..
